Baird Park Site
Lease
The lease has been approved by the Council and has been signed. We are pleased to inform you that work to prepare the site for the coming season will start shortly.
The site has an area of 3600sq m. It is planned to get the ground ready for the 2011 growing season, this will be done by ploughing and harrowing the ground.
Each of 35 allotments will be provided with a 6x4 ft shed with rainwater collection and water butt storage. A composter will also be provided for each site.
A chain link fence and natural hedge screen will provide security, the fence will be supplemented with a rabbit fence. A vehicle access area will allow collection and drop off of heavy or bulky items.
Fund Raising
Grand Auction
This was a great success, all the items sold at or above the indicated prices, the food by Cool Gourmet was excellent and our Guest Jim McColl was on great form .
Over £6,000 was added to Association fund, thanks to the efforts of the organiser Frieda Burns, her helpers and to the very generous support from local companies and our benefactor.
The Association wishes to thank

Meetings
The last ordinary open meeting of the season was held on Wednesday 13th October at 7.30pm in the Bowling Club.
The ordinary meeting was followed by an Extraordinary General Meeting for Members only to vote on the addition of a clause to our Constitution which has been requested by one of our funding organisations. The motion was duly passed and the Constitution submitted to the organisation for their records.
